Position: Manager Medical (Clinical Regulatory writing), available through the Judge Group

Details:  Requires experience writing CTD's and managing people management. PhD preferred, but MS will also be considered.

Communications Specialist

Job Description:

The Indiana Hospital Association is a nonprofit trade association that supports hospitals in achieving their missions and goals. IHA provides services related to government relations, communications, data collection, finance, education, and patient safety.

The communications specialist will report to the director of communications and work closely with the executive team. Member communications is the focus. Key stakeholders are hospital chief executives and other hospital staff members statewide. Additional key stakeholders include legislators, media, and hospital partners, such as academia, physician groups, and other professional organizations. The specialist will also provide communications support to the Indiana Patient Safety Center.

 The specialist will write about health care topics including health policy, law, finance, as well as clinical topics. Specialist provides marketing support for IHA products and services, mainly educational events.

 Position is entry to mid-level. Health care experience is helpful, but not required.

 Duties

  • Write and distribute weekly electronic news
  • Edit and distribute legislative alerts
  • Write copy for brochures, flyers, scripts, direct email, and print publications
  • Work with editor and designer on print publications
  • Manage content on websites
  • Manage social media tools
  • Provide media relations support, including writing press releases
  • Take photographs at events for publications
  • Uphold and protect the brand
  • Complete special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, or related field required
  • Proven writing/editing skills, AP Style
  • Ability to execute the collaborative process – working with topic experts, designer, and editor
  • Must be willing to learn content management system, media relations tools, and social media tools
  • Ability to produce news and marketing materials on deadline
