Consider volunteering!

All of our chapter positions are volunteer roles, offering members opportunities to contribute to the professional growth of medical writers/editors, influence the medical writing profession through AMWA, and develop and practice leadership behaviors.

We rely on volunteers for support of various chapter efforts. And volunteers are free to commit as much or as little time as needed. We appreciate all volunteer efforts!

If you are interested in supporting the Indiana Chapter as a volunteer, please contact the chapter president.

About Officer Elections:

Chapter officers are elected at our annual chapter conference.  Per our chapter bylaws, the slate of candidates chosen by a Nominating Committee is read at a chapter meeting immediately before the meeting for elections (chapter conference) when additional nominations may be made from the floor.  If nominations from the floor are not made, the President may call for a motion that the nominations be closed and that the recommended slate of officers be accepted by acclamation.  If additional nominations are made, the Secretary issues ballots to the members with request to return within two weeks to the Secretary for tabulating.  The elected candidates are announced at the next chapter meeting.

Elections are validated at the time of the time of the national conference, typically held in October, at which time officers begin their terms.  Officer terms are 1 years and until successors have been elected.
